Brett James has had more than 800 of his songs recorded by some of the biggest artists in the world. His songs have appeared on albums with combined sales of over 110 million copies. He has had numerous hit singles including 27 #1’s and won a Grammy in 2006 for “Jesus, Take the Wheel”. He was named ASCAP’s Country Songwriter of the Year in 2006 and 2010 and Music Row Magazines’ Songwriter of the Year in 2015. He has received more than 40 ASCAP hit song awards in country, pop, Latin, and Christian genres. In 2020 he was elected to the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. As a producer, his credits include Taylor Swift, Jessica Simpson, Danielle Bradberry, and Kip Moore. Brett served 18 years on the board of directors of the Country Music Association, has served as a national trustee of The Recording Academy (Grammys) and he also serves on the board of the Nashville Songwriters Association International.
