South Carolina Ballet’s “Dracula: Ballet with A Bite” will be performed on October 18th at 7:30 pm., promising an evening of haunting sensuality and thrilling entertainment.

Under the direction of our CEO & Artistic Director, William Starrett, this sizzling adaptation of Bram Stoker’s classic novel blends seductive choreography with a hauntingly beautiful score, creating an irresistible experience. Witness the hypnotic County Dracula and his sensual journey brought to life by the extraordinary talent of the South Carolina Ballet. Since its electrifying premiere in 1991, “Dracula” has captivated audiences nationwide. This year marks the 32nd production of this spellbinding ballet. CEO and Artistic Director William Starrett assures that each performance brings new surprises: “Even if you’ve seen the ballet before, you never know what’s new in our bag of tricks and treats.” Dance Magazine hails it as an “entertaining extravaganza that guarantees the audience a good time.” Experience why this Halloween treat has thrilled audiences for over three decades. “Dracula is more than just a story”, says Starrett. “It’s an invitation to explore the depths of desire and danger.”

The ballet features an original rock/jazz score composed by Thomas E. Semanski, celebrated for his ballet compositions, including “Dracula: Ballet with a Bite,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Frankenstein,” and “Dracula’s Revenge.” Semanski received the Popular Music award from the American Society of Composers for his work on “Dracula: Ballet with a Bite.” His evocative music enhances the ballet’s seductive and immersive experience.

The performance promises dazzling visuals, striking theatrical imagery, evocative lighting, special effects, and atmospheric sets, presenting a feast for the eyes. Through the artistic direction and choreography of William Starrett, the ballet will transport you into a world where love and darkness collide.
